Event Description

Got a business idea?  Always wanted to start a social enterprise and do it well?
If this is you, then you'll want to take note of this one!

In February, SEA is very excited to welcome acclaimed entrepreneurship expert, speaker, and author Stephen Meade to give a seminar on "Starting A Social Enterprise".  He will be going through very practical steps on how to turn an idea into a working social enterprise, including tips on networking, building a team, and pitching your idea.  Stephen is a seasoned business leader who is a frequent participant/speaker/panelist at CGI (Clinton Global Initiative), Founder Institute, Opportunity Green, and more.  He currently serves as chairman and resident rainmaker at BigBamboo LLC, a holding company which incubates start-up companies from innovative idea to market-ready.  His roster of successful businesses includes the founding and selling of SiteVisions.com, a website and database development company sold in 2000, and Virtual Sellers.com started in 1996, which became an innovation for an ecommerce-based transaction processing system that proved to be an early precursor to PayPal.  He currently guides the future of companies including My WetRock, Inc. RONAStar, ComCom, OrionNation, and others.

Please include in the discussion the idea of a 100% nonprofit developing a profit center while continuing its social services to the extent that the profit center commands approx. 33% of operations - rules? regulations?
